Colors and textures
inspire me...

My sketchbook is always close by and these sketches become the starting point as I begin a  painting. I build up layers of paint to create a textured surface. Working in a cheerful palette expressing positivity and a celebration of color, I begin to see interesting areas of composition. The process becomes intuitive, creating a painting that is visually engaging and uplifting to the mind and spirit.

“Nothing is less real than realism. Details are confusing. It is only by selection, by elimination, by emphasis, that we get at the real meaning of things.”
